The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) is the largest professional body for cardiology in Europe. It represents over 90,000 cardiovascular professionals across the continent. The ESC promotes research, education and best practice in cardiovascular medicine and related sciences. It provides a forum for debate and discussion on all aspects of cardiovascular disease.

The ESC is committed to improving the lives of people with cardiovascular disease and reducing the burden of cardiovascular disease on society. We do this by:

* Educating health professionals about advances in cardiology;
* Providing guidance on how best to treat patients with cardiovascular disease;
* Promoting quality improvement in cardiac care;
* Advocating for policies that will reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease on individuals, families and society.
